The project stands as a simple volume in the landscape. Its compactness frees up the site for a large courtyard that connects to the surrounding public facilities. The placement of the volume perpendicular to the street creates transparency between Boily Street and Saint-Joachim Park, effectively opening up the courtyard to the urban context. The roof of the gymnasium, which is buried under the natural slope, becomes a natural extension of the street and creates a terrace overlooking the courtyard. This plateau is shared by the students and the public, encouraging an exchange between the school and the city.
