The project is built in a compact, unobtrusive manner to blend in with the natural topography of the site and maximize the visual presence of the village. To achieve this, the volume above the ground line retains proportions congruent with neighboring houses while program elements are organized below the ground line. The project considers sustainability at its core; The compactness of the service building reduces the amount of built-up and paved surfaces on the site, the extensive distribution of permeable surfaces enables the installation of a water recovery system, and the greening of the flat roof reduces heat islands. The grid organization favors simple, efficient mechanical distribution. The application of photovoltaic panels across the roof of the fire department ensures maximum solar energy input and will become the fifth facade when viewed from the top of the surrounding mountains.
