The Turgeon project transforms and expands an existing quadruplex into six residential units. The increased density is achieved by introducing two-level units on the ground floor and basement. At the rear, a generous English courtyard floods the lower level with natural light. A new third floor with a mezzanine furthers this densification, adding two more units to the ensemble. While the new upper floor is clearly defined at the front by a shift in materials, the rear façade appears as a cohesive and unified whole. Oversized walkways function both as egress paths and spacious terraces for the various units.
